Hotel Posa Posa Positano, Italy Review:
The Hotel Posa Posa is located at the top of the hill in Positano and literally built into the cliffs – which gives you some incredible views.
On the downside however it’s a long walk down to the city center or the beach. It will take you about 15 minutes to the center of town and 20 minutes to the beach.
The bus stop is right outside the hotel however and can take you down to the beach in a much shorter time frame for only a few Euros. There’s also a public bus that can take you into Amalfi or Sorrento for sightseeing.
The 24 air-conditioned guestrooms in Posa Posa are arranged over 7 floors and many of them (not all) offer balconies and sea views.
The rooms themselves are a bit basic for a 4 star hotel, but do have what you need including minibars, tvs, hair dryers and safes. The hotel décor also seems a bit dated – although, according to the hotel, a total renovation of this property was done in February of 2012.
Unlike several other hotels in the area, the wireless Internet access in your room is NOT free – there is a surcharge. Also, Wifi is available in public areas – but again there’s a surcharge.

Parking is available across the road from the hotel for a reasonable charge. Plus, this hotel also offers extended parking – which means if you’re going to stay somewhere else (like Capri, where you don’t really need the car), you can leave your car here for a few days.
Breakfast is included for free with your stay every morning and includes the standard basics like coffee, eggs, fruit and pastries.
This hotel does have a pool and rooftop terrace. However it’s also one of the smallest pools among Positano hotels. So if you’re looking for a huge pool area, this is not it – it’s more of a “boutique” pool size.
There’s a restaurant in the hotel that overlooks the Mediterranean. There’s also some highly rated restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel – so you don’t always have to eat at the hotel.
Bottom Line?
The Hotel Posa Posa in Positano is a small boutique hotel with not a lot of bells and whistles. Expect to do quite a bit of walking as well, unless you want to take the internal town bus every day.

However on the upside this hotel is also much more affordable than many other hotels closer to the beach – and it gives you some incredible views. Plus the extended parking is a bonus and this hotel doesn’t fill up as fast as some other hotels in peak season. So it really depends on what you’re looking for.
Room Tip: While it may seem romantic, avoid rooms with “mountain rocks” in them – they tend to be damp and smell funky.
