Le Sirenuse Positano Review:
When celebrities want to stay in the heart of Positano, they stay at Le Sirenuse (I believe Orlando Bloom recently stayed there this past summer).
If you’re looking for 5 star elegance in the heart of Positano town, you really can’t get better than Le Sirenuse. It’s been rated one of the Leading Hotels of the World – something no other hotel in Positano can claim.
The location is also ideal – within easy walking distance of both the shopping area and the beaches of Positano.
Le Sirenuse was originally the seaside resort of the Sersale family – a family that has many illustrious members including an ambassador in the mid-18th century, a cardinal and archbishop of Naples and a mayor of Positano.
The majolica tiled rooms are filled with museum-worthy antiques, hand-picked mainly by patriarch Franco Sersale. The family still runs and overseas the hotel today.
The hotel itself has 58 rooms arranged over 8 floors, each with either a partial or a full sea view. The rooms are elegant and well laid out with all of the amenities you’d expect of a 5 star hotel including free Wifi, room service, tour and ticket service, laundry, dry cleaning, iron and trouser press and daily maid service.
Room Tip: Ask for a room with a full sea view. Also, the rooms situated higher up have better views.
The staff is available 24-7 to help you with everything from arranging shuttles/private transfers from the airport or rail station, bridal services, boat tours and more.
The hotel also has a private pool that offers sweeping views of Positano where you can kick back and relax with a drink and a good book.
There is a large workout and exercise room as well as a day spa where you enjoy a massage or a facial.
One thing that sets this property apart are all of the things you can do during your vacation. They have a boat you can take (for free) along the Amalfi coast. You can also have the staff arrange a Sunset Cruise of the Amalfi Coast, Bike Rentals, Wine Tasting or a trip to the fish market including a tour of the kitchen with the Sous Chef.
You get an upscale free buffet breakfast with your stay including lot of items that are not included in many hotel buffets like organic fruits, freshly made granola and tomatoes with mozzarella.
Private parking is available at the hotel (reservation not needed).
The hotel restaurant – La Sponda – is quite famous and known for it’s superb food (but it fills up fast so a reservation is recommended). It includes a gorgeous view of Positano (naturally) and live music tableside.
Tip: Call ahead and book the restaurant (La Sponda) at this hotel in advance of your stay. It fills up quickly and features on site live music.
There’s also an oyster and champagne bar if you just want to relax and enjoy a romantic snack after a long day shopping in the town.
If you’re looking for old world Italian elegance (or you just want to feel like a movie star), Le Sirenuse is the place to stay in Positano. It surrounds you with elegance at every turn – from the restaurant to the rooms to the pool. And it’s in easy walking distance to everything without a lot of stairs involved.
The only real problem with this hotel is that it fills up months – sometimes even years – in advance. And it’s one of the more expensive 5 star hotels in Positano.
But if you’re looking for a famous 5 star retreat perfect for a special occasion, anniversary or wedding, this is a great option.
