Positano Art Hotel Pasitea Review- What You Need To Know:
The Positano Art Hotel Pasitea has a special place in my heart because it’s the very first hotel I stayed at years ago when I first started going to Positano. It’s a 4 star hidden gem situated right on the main road of Positano – the Via Pasitea.
The hotel is larger than many Positano hotels with 30 rooms spread over 4 floors. All of them have private sea-view balconies of varying sizes.
The hotel is situated further up the hill – about halfway between the start of the shopping area and the top of the town where the main highway runs through. It will take you about 12 minutes to reach the main shopping area and 15-20 minutes to get to the beach.
If you don’t want to walk, there’s an in-town bus stop basically right in front of the hotel, which is handy. And the main SITA bus stop is about 5 – 10 minutes away as well.
The rooms are really large at this hotel – larger than you get with some of the other 4-star Positano hotels. They are bright and clean and include minibars and safes.
You also get free wireless Internet in your room and in the common areas.
Breakfast is (usually) included with your stay (depending on where you book) and is served in the main lobby every morning. You can also sit outside for breakfast which is along the main road where you can people (or car) watch.
Breakfast is quite decent at this hotel and includes pastries, juices, sausages and bacon, eggs, nutella (the real stuff), toast and fruit.
One thing to note – although a lot of booking places say this hotel has a restaurant, it actually does not. There is a bar and a beautiful lobby area where breakfast is served, but there’s no actual restaurant.
It doesn’t really matter however since there are several highly-rated restaurants nearby within a 5 minute walk. And the staff can give you some great recommendations on where to go as well.
Although there is no laundry service at this hotel, you can walk up the hill about 5 minutes to a self-service laundry that is quite cheap and easy to use.
The staff at this hotel is superb. They go above and beyond the call of duty. For example, when we first arrived they actually gave us a choice of two different rooms – one with a Jacuzzi tub (which we hadn’t paid for – so it was an upgrade).
They let us go in and check out the rooms to choose which one we wanted. This is something they didn’t have to do (and something I’ve never experienced at another hotel).
The staff can also arrange a (free) shuttle for you to dine at some of the harder-to-reach but absolutely fantastic restaurants around Positano and Montepertusso (the area above Positano).
The only real downside to this hotel is that there is no pool or workout room. This is not uncommon as many hotels in the area do not have pools.
If you’re looking for a very affordable 4 star hotel with decent room sizes and fantastic views from the balcony, the Positano Art Hotel should definitely be on your short list.
While it is a bit of a walk from the beaches, it makes up for it in lower prices, great service and larger rooms.
