Villa Fiorentino Review – What You Need To Know:
Villa Fiorentino is a hidden gem in Positano – many Italians know about it, but not as many North American travellers are aware of it. It is technically a luxury villa. There are 6 suites spread out over 2 floors and they can sleep from 2 to 6 guests each.
The Villa has been family owned and run for 3 generations and they go out of their way to help you arrange your trip, book tours, navigate Positano, find the best restaurants and more.
Each room opens to it’s own patio or terrace with views over Positano and the Mediterranean or the garden. Because the Villa Fiorentino is located higher up in Positano, the views are spectacular – both from the rooms and the rooftop pool.
The rooms are quite spacious and many include a washing machine for laundry and a kitchenette with a dishwasher, dishes/cutlery, coffeemaker and everything you need to make a meal yourself. As an extra bonus, there’s a small market across the street where you can pick up meats, cheeses, fruits, breads etc.
Wireless internet access is free and can be used in both the rooms and in public areas. All rooms also include hairdryers, safes, bathrobes and slippers. The larger suites also include a separate living/lounge area
Room Tip: The best suite here is the honeymoon suite which has it’s own terrace with spa hot tub.
This is one of the few villas in Positano with it’s own roof-top infinity pool, which also gives you amazing views of the water below. Plus, because of the limited number of rooms here, the pool is quite private and quiet.
There are no on-site parking facilities at this building – you have to park at a local garage and walk to the Villa.
The Villa Fiorentino Positano is technically a villa – not a hotel. So while this gives you the advantage of more space and a kitchen, there are a few things you should know as well.
Room service is available – but limited. You usually have to order ahead of time. There are also limited hours for the concierge/check-in staff.
Rooms are still cleaned daily, just like a hotel – and fresh towels and linens are given as well.
Unlike many of the hotels in Positano, you do not get a free buffet breakfast here. However you can order breakfast via room service and enjoy it on your terrace, which is a great way to start your day! And if you use this link to book the breakfast is Free!
Dining Tip: The owner is a trained chef – ask her to cook you a meal and dine in on your terrace at least one night for an extra special treat!
There is no restaurant on site – however you are within easy walking distance to a several excellent Positano favorites. And the staff can help you with recommendations, reservations and even free transport to the restaurants if they are higher up the hill.
As far as location goes, the Villa Fiorentino is higher up Positano. So there will be some stair-climbing involved. There are about 100 steps from the main street and a little over 400 steps from the beach.
That means if you’re arriving via ferry, you’ll want to get a porter to take your bags up for you, instead of lugging them all the way up to the apartments. You can call the Villa Fiorentino ahead of time and get them to help you with your arrival.
If you don’t want to take the stairs down to the beach or the town shopping area, the local bus stops right outside the Villa. (And it’s a great way to skip coming up the stairs at the end of the day as well).
If you’re looking for a place in Positano that gives you the benefits of an apartment (more space, kitchens, laundry) along with stunning balcony views and a fairly-private infinity pool you’ll love the Villa Fiorentino Positano.
It’s charming, private and family-run to give you a more authentic Italian feel. You’ll feel like you’re staying with family (in a luxury apartment no less!)
