Conca D’Oro Hotel Positano Italy – What You Need To Know:
If you’re looking for beautiful views and affordable prices, you may want to consider the Hotel Conca D’Oro Positano. This lovely hotel is built on the side of a hill higher up in Positano – giving you gorgeous views from every window.
It’s one of the larger 3 star hotels in Positano with 38 air-conditioned rooms laid out over 5 floors. Most rooms have great views of the water and the town itself – however the rooms on the main floor do not have balconies. And some of the balconies on higher floors are shared (so ask for a private balcony if this is your preference).
Rooms include safes and hair dryers but no mini-bars. You can get room service or laundry/dry cleaning services as well. Wifi is free throughout the hotel including in the rooms and public areas.
A general renovation of all rooms was completed in January 2013 and while they aren’t the largest rooms in Positano, they are clean, elegant and well-laid out.
There’s also a spa with beauty treatments and massages available and a terrace with a hot tub where you can kick back and enjoy the view.
The hotel does have a small restaurant that serves mainly Mediterranean fare on a gorgeous panoramic terrace. However you should know that it is only open from April until the end of October. So if you’re staying here from November to March, you’ll have to eat dinner elsewhere.
A breakfast buffet is included with your room booking. You get basic continental fare like cereals, pastries, fresh fruits, yogurt and cold meats. You can also have eggs made for a surcharge.
Private parking is available at the hotel and no reservation is needed. It costs about 21 Euro a day which is pretty standard for Positano rates.
The main downside to this hotel is the location – and the climbing involved. The Hotel Conca D’Oro is located over 500 stairs directly up from Spaggia Fornillo (which is a bit more secluded than the main beach of Spiaggia Grande). So you’re going to have a bit of a walk down to the beach – and a walk up to your hotel at night.
So this may be a challenge for people with mobility issues. However you are closer to the road so if you’re planning on touring the other towns by car or by bus the location is actually very convenient.
Plus the prices here are some of the best in Positano – overall the hotel is a great value, there’s just a few steps to climb.
So if don’t mind walking down to the beach and you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable Positano hotel – with incredible views, you’ll definitely want to consider the Conca D’Oro.
