Villa Gabrisa Hotel Review – A Good Choice For You?:
If you’re looking for a quiet, boutique hotel with old-world charm and some of the best views from your balcony, you really can’t go wrong with the Villa Gabrisa.
This was formerly a private villa that has been turned into a 4-star hotel with only 9 rooms spread over 3 floors. Each room offers stunning sea views and balconies, air conditioning, Sky TV and free Internet.
The hotel itself is set higher up the hill – in between the town shopping area and the main road up above. So it can be a bit of a walk down to the beach – about 15 minutes.
But the tradeoff is that you get some of the best views of Positano and the Mediterranean. There’s also a local bus stop a few steps from the front of the hotel if you don’t want to walk down to the beach.
Perhaps because this started out as a private villa, the rooms are fairly large, with a few of them being quite spacious. It’s also a family-run establishment and, since there are only 9 rooms, you get incredibly personalized service at this hotel. Whatever you need, the staff can usually accommodate you.
They can arrange for transfers to and from Naples or Rome (airport or train stations). They can also make dinner reservations and arrange tours or tickets for you.
You get a free breakfast included in your booking if you book through this site. Breakfast can be enjoyed out on the terrace so you can enjoy the amazing views. Also be sure to try the cappuccino (usually included in the free breakfast) as it’s especially well done here.
The restaurant at the Villa Gabrisa hotel is a hidden gem – and a definite must-try – especially the tables across the road that look down onto the water – very romantic – and the view is incredible.
I’ve eaten here several times over the years and never had a bad experience once. From the food quality to the service to the breath-taking views, this is definitely worth at least one dinner on your vacation (although you’ll probably want to come back!) They also have menus for vegetarians and guests with special dietary requirements.
Parking is available either on the street or at a garage down the street for a surcharge. There are also laundry facilities at the hotel and it’s an easy walk to some other incredible restaurants/shops along the road as well.
While the hotel doesn’t have some of the amenities of larger hotels like a pool or fitness room, what it lacks in these areas it makes up for in unbeatable views and more affordable prices.
If you’re looking for an affordable boutique hotel with old-world charm and some of the best views from your balcony, you really can’t go wrong with the Villa Gabrisa.
